Anastessia Bettas is a Toronto based artist specializing in encaustic abstract paintings. Her work is influenced by the urban environment and social connectedness. The clustering and overcrowding of people in revitalized urban areas distresses the landscape physically and metaphorically. She uses grids to evoke intersections, cartography and aerial views. She has a formal education in art history, marketing and fine arts from McGill University, University of Toronto and the Toronto School of Art (TSA). Since graduating from TSA in 2013, she has exhibited her work in Ontario and the USA winning numerous accolades. Her work can be found in private collections in North America and Europe. She recently completed a commission of large paintings for the Nottawasaga Resort in Alliston, Ontario. Commissions welcomed.
