Bath House Quilts In the late 1990's artist Philip Hare worked as an attendant (or, in his words, 'towel hag') at the now defunct 'Barracks' bathhouse. The only thing that kept him sane during the long, dark 12 hour shifts were the paper cut-outs that he created by the dozens. In his 'Bath House Quilts' Hare reproduces these exploding patterns of flying penises, dancing princes and winged warriors in vibrant silk-screens adorned with thread and buttons. From the darkness he brings joy.
