La Cloche Photograph Exhibit –
Visions of La Cloche: Ontario’s Spiritual Mountains

La Cloche photographer Jon Butler is exhibiting ‘Visions of La Cloche: Ontario’s Spiritual Mountains’ at the Temiskaming Art Gallery in Haileybury from February 26 to April 14.

This exhibit of La Cloche photographs provides a window to the way the landscape reveals spirituality. It is a natural inborn spirituality that allows one more awareness, empathy and conscience.

Butler, a retired newspaperman who changed his clothes to enjoy the passing seasons of life, has been capturing and enjoying the light of La Cloche for more than 25 years. Concentrating on solitary, contemplative landscapes and atmospheric effects his photographs reflect years of meditation on the subject matter and draw viewers into the light of La Cloche.

The La Cloche area (www.lacloche.ca), with its quartzite Mountains, crystal clear lakes, windswept pines and abundant wildlife, is located in Northern Ontario on the north shore of Georgian Bay with Killarney Park in the east and the town of Spanish in the west. Butler lives in Willisville in the heart of the La Cloche Mountains.

In 2007, Butler’s solo exhibit ‘Visions of La Cloche: Ontario’s Spiritual Mountains’ will be at The Temiskaming Art Gallery, Haileybury, Feb. 26 – April 14; Propeller Centre for the Visual Arts, 984 Queen St. W., Toronto, May 23 – June 12; Centennial Museum & Gallery, Sheguiandah, Sept. 7 – Oct.13 and Museum of Northern History, Kirkland Lake, Oct. 17 – Nov. 18.
