PROPELLER CENTER MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
ACTIVE MEMBER
$220* ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE + EXHIBITION FEES.

Active members are required to exhibit no less than once a year. They are also eligible to participate in group shows,apply to curated shows, and receive a Center newsletter. $70 of the annual membership fee will be refunded to active members at the time of gallery booking.

SUSTAINING MEMBER
$220 ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE.

Members are eligible for one year of Sustaining Membership after each year of Active Membership. Sustaining members are eligible to participate in group shows, apply to curated shows, and receive the Propeller Centre newsletter.

FRIEND OF PROPELLER
$50 FEE.

Friends of the gallery keep informed about Propeller exhibitions and activities through our newsletter.

NON-MEMBERS, CURATORS,
COLLECTIVES + GUEST ARTISTS

Propeller is available though a submission process to non-members, curators, collectives and guest artists who submit proposals to the Selection Committee. All proposals are reviewed and evaulated by the Selection Committee for acceptance. For further information, please contact by E-mail or phone the gallery Wednesday through Friday.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

MEMBERSHIP EXPECTATIONS
Propeller is run exclusively by volunteers and all members are required to put in specified time to support events at the center. Members are also expected to join in fundraisers.

GALLERY ADMINISTRATOR
Propeller employs a permanent gallery administrator who manages the day-to-day activities of the gallery. The administrator is available to help with promotion of exhibitions. Sales made through exhibiting at Propeller are subject to a 20% commission payable to the administrator.

SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES
Submissions for membership and for proposals are accepted on an ongoing basis and should include:

    • curriculum vitae
    • artist statement
    • exhibition proposal / curatorial statement (if applicable)
    • 10 labelled slides, CDs, or digital prints emphasis on current work; they should be clearly labeled with artist’s name and the title of work, and an indication of the top of the work
    • corresponding list containing: title of work, year, size, and medium 
    • SASE for return of slides, CDs, or prints


Please also include a Statement of Intent to either become a member or to show in the gallery. Note: incomplete submissions will not be considered.
When evaluating membership application, consideration is given to: the quality of the work, the level of professionalism, and the demonstrated commitment to the visual arts.
